Yates-Sundt JV to Host Subcontractor/Supplier Fair for Comal County New Jail Construction & Sheriff’s Office Renovation Projects
(New Braunfels, TX – June 8, 2017)
Yates-Sundt will hold its first Subcontractor/Supplier Fair on Wed. July 19 from 2:00pm-4:00pm at the McKenna Events Center (801 W. San Antonio Street, New Braunfels, TX 78130) for the upcoming Comal County New Jail Construction & Sheriff’s Office Renovation projects.
The projects (funding for which Comal County voters approved in November 2015), will consist of a new 589-bed Jail on land adjacent to the current Walter Fellers Law Enforcement Center (LEC) between West San Antonio Street and I-35, and subsequent renovation of the LEC for the new Sheriff’s Office. Comal County Commissioners selected the Yates-Sundt JV as Construction Manager At-Risk (CMAR) in Spring 2017. Building designs are progressing and construction groundbreaking is anticipated in Fall 2017.
The purpose of the Subcontractor/Supplier Fair is to increase the utilization of local material providers and qualified craftspeople, trades people, businesses and lower income residents within Comal County on these projects (Small, Minority & Women-Owned Businesses encouraged.) Detailed information regarding specific bidding opportunities and in-person/live instruction on how to become a pre-qualified & approved Subcontractor/Supplier/Vendor will be presented at this event by qualified Yates-Sundt representatives. This will be an “Open House” format for interested individuals and businesses to come-and-go at their convenience over the 2-hour period. Light refreshments will be provided. RSVP’s are encouraged, but not required.
